Davisville Village is a centrally located neighbourhood that has always been popular with young couples and families. The proximity to recreational facilities, shopping, transit and nightlife makes it a vibrant and energizing community. The community is divided into two districts by the city and those are recognized as Mount Pleasant East and Mount Pleasant West with Mount Pleasant forming the dividing line between them. Mount Pleasant East stretches eastward to Bayview and is bordered along the north by Blythwood Road and to the south by Moore Avenue. Mount Pleasant West on the other hand is borded to the west by Yonge Street, to the north by Keewatin Avenue and to the south by Merton Street.

The neighbourhood was named after John Davis, who operated the Davis Pottery, which was at the time, the area's largest employer.  Most of the neighbourhood homes were built in the 1920's and 1930's. The homes ranged in style, with those west of Mount Pleasant Road being mostly large two and three-storey Edwardian-style homes and those east of Mount Pleasant Road primarily smaller detached houses, semi-detached houses and bungalows. Eglinton Avenue, Merton Street and Baliol Street host a multitude of newer condominiums while Davisville Avenue offers many high-rise rental units.

Area residents find the welcome stretches of Mount Pleasant Road, Yonge Street and Bayview Avenue,  convenient and enjoyable destinations for shopping, eating and listening to music. The Davisville Tennis Club is a highlight for many with its busy tournament schedule and children and young families can always be found enjoying the Davisville Park nextdoor. Transportation is not an issue for area residents with the Eglinton Avenue and Davisville subways stations just a stroll away.  For those who prefer to drive, a short jaunt down Yonge Street, Bayview Avenue or Mount Pleasant Road will have you downtown in twenty minutes.
