Lawrence Park

The lush green landscape and tranquil setting of Lawrence Park places it alongside Rosedale, the Bridle Path and Forest Hill as Toronto's most desirable neighbourhoods. Lawrence Park is a mature tree-lined neighbourhood that stretches south from Lawrence Avenue to the  Blythwood Ravine. The affluent subdivision - which was initially developed in 1907 - is bordered on the west by Yonge Street and on the east by Bayview Avenue.

Right out of the gate, Lawrence Park was marketed as an 'aristocratic neighbourhood.' However, development was slow and its growth struggled under the weight of two world wars and an economic depression. Finally, by the 1950's, Lawrence Park's English Cottage, Tudor Revival, Georgian and Colonial style designed homes were completed. Today the area hosts a blend of the old and the new with renovations sensitive to preserving the old world charm.

Yonge Street provides a shoppers with a pedestrian-friendly collection of fashion retailers, gift shops, bakeries and restaurants. For those seeking park lands or recreational facilities, the Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens whose brick pathways and rose gardens invite you to stroll a magnificent  five-kilometre network of connecting parks. Another reason why this elite family friendly neighbourhood is in such demand is the first-rate education choices for children, such as Lawrence Park Collegiate and the Toronto French School. The Lawrence subway station at Yonge Street and Lawrence Avenue provides commuters direct access to the Yong-University-Spadina subway line with the 401 only a short drive north of Lawrence Park.
